Wind Symphony Syllabi
Syllabi are intended to inform parents and students of upcoming events, tests, and most importantly, the music we'll be working on during the week. It's up to you to get your syllabus signed by a parent (in lieu of a practice record) and work on the music in the syllabus. Ideally, we would NEVER look at a measure of music in class that you haven't looked at already on your own - this would help us move much faster in class.
Parents - you don't have to know anything about music to help your student practice! Their tests and expectations are listed out for you. It's usually pretty easy to tell if a student can or can't play a line of music - just asking them to play something for you can really help motivate them to practice.
Students - anything listed on the syllabus is fair game for a pop quiz in class. Be prepared!
Signed syllabi are due to Mrs. I every Monday, and a new one will be passed out. We follow RISD and WWJH's late work policy.
